Some of SDI’s most recent savings schemes have emerged in the Freetown slums of Kroo Bay and Dworzack. YMCA-Sierra Leone assists in supporting savings and enumeration programmes. The Sierra Leone Federation officially launched in 2011, three years after the emergence of the first savings schemes. It is active in Freetown, Bo, and Makeni.
