Thailand
Community networks in Thailand are growing in number, size, and capacity to emerge as role players in the national development scene. These networks allow poor communities to move from isolation and powerlessness into collective strength, by identifying crisis situations and developing appropriate solutions. Besides providing a means of idea-sharing, asset-pooling and mutual support, networks have opened channels for communities to engage with their local development agencies and to undertake collaborative projects. These networks are supported by the Community Organisation Development Institute (CODI).
