National Tsunami Community Federation Sri Lanka.

The National Tsunami Community Federation was establish with the guidance of Janarukula / Women Development Bank Federation, uniting Moratuwa, Gall, Kaluthara, Batticallao and Trincomallie Tsunami community at the office of the WomenDevelopment Bank Federation on the 29th April 2005.
The main objective of the organization was to undertake the comprehensive development of tsunami affected community to address the following key issues, through our families' consensus, needs and consent. So far we have acted individually to solve our problems but it was failed. Now we have joined our five districts Tsunami affected community building our strength and power. So that we got the opportunity now to take actions immediately to

1. To gain the legal ownership of our lands those we had been living there for so many years.
2. Construction of permanent shelters obtaining drinking water, toilets, electricity and other facilities.
3. Improvement of income generating avenues and facilities.

To achieve the above objectives we have agreed today to work together to take the following measures.

1. Implement and inter district interface program to straighten the Tsunami federation.
2. Take actions to join other Tsunami affected displaced districts to our federation.
3. To take actions to construct temporary or permanent shelters in the area that they had been living.
4. Obtaining those houses with drinking water, toilets, electricity and other facilities.
5. Establish a Tsunami revolving fund in the Tsunami affected districts for income generating activities.
